According to an article in yesterday’s PW, NPR is filling in some gaps left by declining book reviews in other major media outlets. They are now expanding their book coverage, and have brought on new reviewers. You can see the very complete website at npr.org. And better yet, the website allows visitors to chose to buy books from Amazon or booksense.com!

Entertainment Weekly (so take that source with a grain of salt) has released their list of The New Classics from 1983 to 2008. “The Road” is their #1 pick, “America, The Book” is #50. It’s a good list for some summer reading ideas.
Since every ying needs a yang, The Times Online has a list of most-loathed books by critics.
Incidentally, “The Road” makes it to both lists.
